2022 MPAA Continuing Education Seminar - Cupping Therapy - November 27, 2022

Basic cupping course (6 hours) instructed by Paul Kohlmeier, BPE, RMT, R.Ac from Cupping Canada Inc.
MPAA was fortunate to have Paul Kohlmeier present a 6 hour basic cupping course for us on Nov 27, 2022.
Paul has been an RMT since 1996 and an R.Ac since 2008. He has spent a lot of time reading and disseminating research to other RMT’s and R.Ac’s. We learned about the history of cupping and the different forms of cupping as well as the proper way to disinfect cups for safe practice. Paul demonstrated the different cupping techniques and reasons to choose certain techniques over another depending on the patient and their complaint. We also learned about possible adverse events and contraindications to cupping. Paul demonstrated how to treat plantar fasciitis and TMJ pain. We took time during the class to practice the different cupping techniques such as: flash cupping, fast cupping, blanket cupping, and dynamic cupping.

The course was a great mix of classroom and hands on learning!
